Since our beginnings in 1923 as the first Newman Club for Catholic students
at the University of Alabama, our mission has been the service of all
God's people in the Tuscaloosa community.
For local parishioners and their families, we strive to provide a home of faith in which worship, religious education, social relationships, and counseling are available to all who need them.
For students of our area colleges and universities in the first flush of adult responsibility and freedom, we offer supportive programs to ease the transition away from home.
If you are a visitor, we hope you find a peaceful sanctuary here to rest in worship of the Lord during your travels.
In the words of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, “The Lord bless you and keep you. May He show His face to you and have mercy. May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace. The Lord bless you!”

FRANCIS OF ASSISI Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen |
