Sacristans

Sacristans have the care of the sacred vessels and other items used at Mass. They set up these items before Mass. They clean up these items and put them away after Mass.

If you would like to be a Sacristan, please, fill in you name and contact information below:

Preparation

I. Preparation

Sacristans should arrive about 25 minutes before the scheduled Mass time and have everything ready for Mass by 10 minutes before the scheduled Mass time.
II. Dress

The ruling principal for dress is modesty. Sacristans should not be dressed to draw attention to themselves. Rather, they should be dressed to reflect the reverence and respect required for this ministry. Dress should not physically hamper the conducting of the duties of the sacristan.
III. Prayer

When the Sacristans arrive, they should take a few moments to mentally review what their duties are. They should reflect on the importance and significance of their ministry. They should ask God to help them serve God and their brothers and sisters well.
