Become Catholic

Interested in learning more about Catholicism or becoming a Catholic?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), formerly known as RCIA, is a journey for anyone—everyone!— interested in learning more about the faith of Catholics. Together, we will discuss what Catholics believe about Jesus, explore Catholic spirituality, learn to apply the principles of Catholic Social Teaching to daily life, and consider what it means to live an authentic Catholic life devoted to knowing, loving, and serving God.

Without obligation, you are welcome to join this year’s OCIA community and participate in the instructive sessions that enthusiastically study Catholicism. OCIA sessions prepare non-Catholics to enter The Church and prepare adult Catholics to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

There is one OCIA class at St. Francis University Parish this year. The class will meet on Sundays at 10am in the Saban Catholic Student Center’s study room. For those who have already received Baptism class starts on 9/10/23. For those who have yet to receive Baptism class starts on 8/13/23. Asynchronous and individual OCIA journeys may also be possible.

Please email Cory Callahan, for more information and to join this year’s OCIA community (i.e., receive notifications).
